Warranty Specialist

Position Summary:

Responsible for maintaining the warranty system for all customers within the division. Facilitate actions necessary to reduce/eliminate warranty through data and part analysis while utilizing OEM warranty management systems and communication with all customers and suppliers.

Responsibilities of Position:

  1. Maintain the warranty systems for part return and claim data analysis using both customer and TI Fluid Systems processes/systems
  2. Coordinate and conduct routine internal warranty meetings and as required with external customers
  3. Participate in defining appropriate warranty agreements with customers which may include developing warranty targets, warranty factors, warranty contracts for prior/new business using technical data
  4. Track warranty costs and if required recovery from suppliers
  5. Maintain compliance to the warranty procedure and revise as required to meet requirements
  6. Obtain data from all OEM systems as applicable to measure and report out on performance and/or develop reduction plan using internal and external resources
  7. Conduct warranty investigations, including analysis of parts and data, conclusion and reporting to internal and external customers
  8. Facilitate and track countermeasures both internally and externally to the company
  9. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals using data
  10. Performs related duties and special projects as assigned
  11. Ability to travel within region; customer sites, TIFS manufacturing plants, and/or supplier locations to review, support, and resolve warranty issues

Skill Requirements:

  1. Experience in automotive products, product testing, or vehicle operations required
  2. High strength in problem solving methodology
  3. Strong organizational skills
  4. Strong interpersonal skills and teamwork
  5. Knowledge of most customer warranty systems and customer portals
  6. Excellent oral and written communication skills
  7. Strong computer skills proficiency in MS office applications, statistics is a plus
  8. Must possess the ability to set priorities and meet deadlines
  9. Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision and/or direction
  10. Familiar and capable of setting up test equipment and procedures for returned part analysis

Licensing or Special Certification Requirements:

  1. Valid driver’s license

Physical Requirements:

  1. Ability to work at a personal computer for extended periods of time
  2. Travels to plant, supplier, and customer sites

Working Conditions:

  1. Occasionally lifts up to 30 pounds and frequently carries up to 15 pounds
  2. Maneuvers in, around, and about factory and/or laboratory equipment on a regular and continuous basis
  3. Some of work time is spent standing, walking, lifting, and bending. Works at telephone answering equipment, design equipment, and at a PC
  4. Works within an engine components manufacturing, office, and laboratory setting and is exposed to heat, cold, wet, and fumes/chemicals

Job Location Specific Requirements:

1. Experience with Brake & Fuel lines or HVAC preferred
