Position Summary:

Sr Sales Manager Business Development will be responsible for leading the regional coordination of business development opportunities and will lead new innovation target costing and target pricing initiatives, partnered with Advanced Engineering and Operations, to ensure the launch of new products with robust profitable positions. This position will partner with Glonal Sales/Business Development leads to gather insights on market developments, providing the necessary forecast updates to divisional leadership and engineering on M&A, technology trends, adjacent markets. They will need to coordinate discussions with advanced engineering on innovation developments and ensure the education of regional teams.

Responsibilities of Position:

Working with the advanced technical development team, align product portfolio to identify high growth market opportunities with existing and new products at targeted OEM, Tier-1, and adjacent customers
Identify new product development opportunities by matching future customer needs with TI Fluid Systems technical capabilities
Facilitate dialogue with OEM leaders on product portfolio, identifying the right resources to meet with customers, gathering Voice of Customer, and sharing back to Advanced Technical Development.
Working in conjunction with business unit leaders, identify the key OEM stakeholders to nurture relationships and push the TI Fluid Systems agenda
Lead business case development for new customer opportunities, partnering with advanced technical development team on product base. Ensure quotations of new developments are aligned prior to quotation to customers
Align with RD&E on possible new adjacent markets to investigate for adjacent fluid product solutions
Lead Account Managers as appropriate
Act as intermediary between customer and other TI Fluid Systems disciplines where appropriate.
Assist in identifying cost savings opportunities to meet customer and Company requirements.
Participate in preparation of annual forecast, activity reports and 5-year plan.
Other duties as assigned.

Skill Requirements:

10 years of experience in automotive sales.
Must have prior account management experience at a Tier 1 automotive supplier.
Excellent interpersonal, conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
Strong negotiation / communication skills, both oral and written.
Ability to work in an unstructured and frequently stressful environment.
Understanding of and ability to work with drawings, specifications, etc.
Project management and multi-task prioritization.
Self-directed with a high degree of self-motivation.
Hands on approach with attention to detail.
Proficient computer skills and abilities with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, etc).

Licensing or Special Certification Requirements:

Valid driver’s license.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to work at a personal computer for extended periods of time.
Regularly travels to plant, vendor, and customer sites.

Working Conditions:

Occasionally lifts and carries up to 15 pounds.
Some of work time is spent standing, walking, lifting and bending.
Works within an automotive component manufacturing office setting and may be exposed to heat, cold and fumes/chemicals.


  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field
  • Master’s degree preferred.
